Family Life Cycle (FLC)

                                Family life cycle (FLC)

Explained simply a family life cycle is simply the process in which an individual in a family buys various goods and services. These purchases are influenced and affected by the various stages in within which he or she may be operating.

A sociological concept that describes changes in families across time. Emphasis is placed on the effects of marriage, divorce, births, and deaths on families and the changes in income and consumption through various family stages. These range from the young single and the newly married stages to the full nest as the children are born and grow, to the empty nest and the final solitary survivor stage. Each transition prompts changes in values and behavior.

The next three stages in Family Life cycle, that is, grown up kids, empty nest and single survivor is still not targeted by brand Apache as its target audience is still the youth. A married man with grown up kids will look for a car rather than a racing bike and a single survivor in his later age will be last in line looking for a racing bike.
