CUSTOMER
VALUE
Customer perceived value is the difference between the
prospective customer’s evaluation of all the benefits and all the costs of a
product and the perceived alternatives.
Total customer benefit is the perceived monetary value of the products, services, personnel and image involved.
Total customer cost is the perceived bundle of costs the consumer has to incur in evaluating, obtaining, using and disposing of the product.
CPV is thus the difference between what the customer gets and what he gives for different possible choices. He gets benefits and assumes costs. The marketer can increase the value of the customer by raising any of the benefits and reducing anyone of the cost.
